Jocelyn Jones

Operational Consultant

Jocelyn joins the team as an operational consultant where she will support all operations with project management by using organizational tools to improve efficiency.

Prior to joining the Institute, Jocelyn worked with the Orlando Magic as a graduate associate in their Global Partnerships department. In that role, she assisted with the relationship management of Orlando Magic’s partners through activations at all Magic-related events. While she learned about the partnership space, she had the opportunity to explore organizational changes using strategic planning and other tools to assist in executing partnership objects. Concurrently with working with the Magic, Jocelyn took on the role as a Director of Communication & Nonprofit Consultant with Elite Involvement, a non-profit organization based in Richmond, VA, her hometown. She was a vital part of the initial phases of the organization to create opportunities and take on a unique approach with foundational elements.

Jocelyn is a Richmond, VA native and former-student athlete. As a former basketball standout, she has always prioritized using her platform to be a change agent. She has a passion for giving back to the communities that she lives in which has always been a motivating factor for her. She is a proud alum of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she earned a BA in Philosophy as well in Women in Gender Studies. She leverages her sport to open more educational opportunities for herself and allow her sport to explore outside of her home state. She also graduated from the University of the District of Columbia with a Master’s in Public Administration, with a certificate in Non-Profit Management, and received her most recent degree from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master’s in Sport Leadership. Jocelyn has recently started her own consulting business Mêtis Consulting LLC, where she looks to continue to help nonprofits amplify their impact.
