NCAS Award Winner Reaches Out to Students at Risk
Recently, NCAS graduate assistant Angelica “Jelly” Mealing spoke to a group of students at the Cherokee School in Orlando, a school that serves as a last resort for students with behavior problems.
On October 11, Jelly was awarded a Giant Steps Courageous Student Athlete award by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports in recognition of her strength and tenacity in overcoming her own personal issues. Now, Jelly is using her past to reach students who are also at risk. Hers is a story of hope, of courage, and of victory.
