Director, Communications

Brittany Clay will lead all marketing and communications efforts for The Institute as the new communications director.

Brittany is a seasoned public relations and communications professional with experience across many different industries, including consumer, higher education and nonprofit sector. Most recently, she was a key member of the academic communications team at The University of Texas at Austin where she supported a spectrum of communications for the executive leadership team in the Office of the Provost.

Prior to UT, she was the head of communications for the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) supporting survivor-centered legislation and developing prevention and awareness campaigns in Texas. Before her time with TAASA, Brittany worked with several PR/marketing agencies in Austin and New York leading the consumer team with focus on the “better for you” food category.

In her spare time, Brittany takes pride in her work with local nonprofits. She is a board member for birth equity nonprofit, Mama Sana Vibrant Woman, and an executive board member for her local school’s PTA where she advocates for students and families in an under-resourced district. She holds a master’s degree in Public Communications from Fordham University and bachelor of science degree in Public Relations from Texas Christian University.
